Day 5: Rainy, But Productive

So, after “Day 1″, (de)construction continued down the street AND around the corner. These guys aren’t foolin’ around! Last night, they poured in massive amounts of concrete, only to have it rain for most of the early hours and still into this afternoon. Poor guys.

Well, sleeping in will no longer be an option, at least not for the next couple (several) weeks (months?). It’s been over a year since a bunch of streetcar tracks were set down about a block away. In fact, you can see them neatly stacked along the curb, in the top right area of this photo. It has rained and snowed and now, with winter around the corner, they’ve finally started demolishing the old tracks. I’ll give them credit though – they’re making easy work of this first stage.

Okay, so the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) went on strike effective midnight Saturday. Thankfully, we live downtown and can walk to almost anywhere of importance to us. If we can’t, there’s a smiling cab driver at just about every intersection. So there! Plus, I work from home suckah! Huzzah! The irony is that this sign for a temporary bus stop looks like it was taped up there just the day before.
